Promakhos

Fiction, 91΄, 2014

Synopsis: Two Athenian attorneys pursue litigation against the British Museum for the return of the Parthenon Marbles. Andreas returns from New York to his homeland of Greece by invitation of the Director of the Acropolis Museum, he partners with his childhood friend and love interest Eleni and takes the case to London. Their efforts are fraught with difficulties, including the social destabilization of the economic crisis that plagues Athens.

Coerte & John Voorhees

They are the sons of a US-based lawyer who has been an active campaigner for the return of the Parthenon Marbles to Athens. Coerte studied history and classics at Georgetown University. “Promakhos” is their first feature.
