Still River

Synopsis: Anna and Petros, a Greek couple who recently moved to an industrial Siberian town on account of Petros’ work, are shocked to discover Anna is pregnant with no prior intercourse. Did she cheat? Are they victims of a conspiracy? Or blessed with a miracle? Looking for a logical explanation to their situation, Petros starts distrusting Anna, who chooses to embrace the pregnancy and turn to religion.
Angelos Frantzis
Born in Athens in 1970, he studied film direction at INSAS in Brussels. After five short films, he made his feature debut with the dramedy “Polaroid”. His films have been screened and won awards at many international film festivals. Besides filmmaking, Angelos has been involved in art projects with combined techniques (installation, performance) and has worked as a film critic, publishing reviews in various books and magazines and as a cinema teacher. His latest installation “Got to be real” participated in Venezia biennale 2012.
