Yorgos Zois
Born in Athens in 1982, he studied applied Math & Nuclear Physics at the NTUA and film direction at Stavrakou Film School, Athens and UdK Berlin with scholarship by Costa Gavras. He also worked as an assistant to Theo Angelopoulos in the film “Dust of Time”. His multi-awarded debut short film “Casus Belli” premiered at the 67th Venice Film Festival in 2010, as were his two subsequent shorts “Out of Frame” and “Eighth Continent”, also distinguished in several international film festivals around the world. His first feature film “Interruption” made its worldwide premiere at the Orrizonti section the 72th Venice IFF, received nine nominations from the Greek Film Academy and won the best newcomer director award. “Third kind”, his fourth short film, had its world premiere in Critic’s Week at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. Based in Athens, Yorgos is also a successful short film producer and is currently involved in new projects around the world.
