Flora Karagianni has studied History and Archaeology in the Department of History andArchaeology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where she continued herpostgraduate studies on Byzantine Archaeology and Art. Later on, she took a diploma ofthe Theology from theTheological School of the same University. Since 1995 she has beenworking in the Ministry of Culture, whereas she has given courses on Byzantine Art andArchaeology in the International Hellenic University, in the University of Thessaly, in theTechnological Institute of Larissa and in the School of Guides. In her scientific interestsare included topics in the field of architecture, art and iconography.
She has written twobooks, she has edited nine others, she has participated in many international and Hellenicb conferences, she has published more than 40 studies and she has given lectures in Greeceand abroad on byzantine archaeology and art. She has particularly undertaken thescientific organization of conferences and exhibitions for several Byzantinological topicsin Greece and abroad. Since March 2017 she has been appointed as Ephor to the Patriarchal Foundation for Patristic Studies, where she recently organized the exhibition:“Our Sacred Beauty. Byzantine icons from Thessaloniki”.
